This former cinema has been renovated into a vibrant pub with several levels of seating. General appearance is well cared for and interesting and atmosphere buzzing.
Sometimes criticized for a lack of staff but often demand is unpredictable and there are often bar areas that are in lesser demand upstairs. Staff always seem friendly and the general atmosphere is good. Not so good for a quite drink though unless you go on an early evening.
From experience of getting asked if my ID was fake at the door and asked to wait for a second opinion you get the impression The Sqaure are careful who they let in, so no chance of under agers. Have seen trouble makers dealt with accordingly on a couple of occasions but do not let this put you off, people are generally very friendly.
The Square has a small dance floor that is about the right size to meet demand early on a Saturday night. Overall the Square is a good starting place for an excellent night out. Thumbs up : )
